Agartala: With the arrest of 34 persons, including two minor girls, police has claimed to have busted a sex racket being run at three restaurants here, officials said today.
Acting on a tip off, police arrested 34 people, including the restaurant owners and 13 women, last night from the three restaurants during a raid, Superintendent of Police of West Tripura district Bijoy Nag said.
The arrested were mostly youth and students, including three girl students of reputed engineering and medical institutes here, besides the two teen-aged girls, he said.
A special court last night itself sent 32 arrested to judicial custody and two to a juvenile Home under provisions of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
Nag, who led the police team, said raids would be intensified in suspected hotels and restaurants to stop such illicit activities.
