Sex racket busted in Srinagar, 13 arrested

Jammu, July 04: In Srinagar The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) police have busted a sex racket in Srinagar and arrested 13 persons, including four women.

According to J&K police, the arrests were made recently following a tip off. The flesh trade racket was allegedly being run from Hotel Nida in Iqbal Park, Srinagar.

Muzaffar Ahmad, investigating officer told Mumbai Mirror that 10 people were arrested from the hotel. “Three more were arrested later. Investigations and on and we expect more arrests,” he said.

The main kingpin of the racket, a woman, is still at large. However, police have detained Mohammed Yakub, 65, owner of Hotel Nida and sealed the place.

Police say the hotel staff rented out rooms on hourly basis and charged Rs 3,000. The money would be shared by the girls, waiters and the hotel owner.
