Aligarh: A gang-rape victim approached the office of Aligarh Senior Superintendent of Police on Thursday with an evidence, severed ear of accused.
She knocked at the door of SSP after local police lodged no FIR against accused persons.
However, SSP was not present in the office. She then furnished evidence to Yashveer Singh, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Yashveer Singh. After seeing evidence, he ordered the filing of FIRs in the case.
According to the news published in Hindustan Times, she said that on Monday, four people gang-raped her when she was sleeping with her children. She also said that her husband who was sleeping in other room came to her rescue but accused assaulted him. In an attempt to resist rape, she bit off the ear of a accused.
She alleged that while leaving, accused threatened of dire consequence if they reveal the incident to anyone.
When she approached local police station next morning, police sent her to medical examination and done many formalities but did not lodge a FIR.
Now, after the order of SP, a case has been registered against three persons. Police also confirmed that the severed ear belongs to Ravi, a resident of Dhatauli village.
Another case was also registered against the husband of the victim after accused filed complaint against him.
Speaking on the issue, SSP (Aligarh), Rajesh Pandey said that he has ordered Gonda Police to investigate the case.
In another incident, a man allegedly thrashed a woman after she resisted his rape attempt. In this case too, when local police did not act on her complaint, she approached the office of SSP. She fainted after reaching the SSP office.
Initially, no police personnel came to help her. Later, a woman constable came forward and made her sit on a chair. She was then shifted to a hospital.
Speaking to media, the woman alleged that the accused had murdered her husband four years ago. She said that on Tuesday night, he forcefully entered into her house and attempted to rape her. She further alleged that when she raised alarm, he started assaulting her. However, he ran away before neighbours arrive.
Talking about the case, Mr. Singh said that medical examination of the victim is done and police is investigating the case.
