The railways have cancelled several prominent and important trains originating from northeastern regions following caste violence and tension continuing in Assam. Spokesperson of the North Eastern Frontier Railway said here today the decision for cancellation of the trains has been taken in view of the safety and security of the passengers.
He said the routes of several trains have been diverted. The trains which have been cancelled are UP and Down Dibrugarh- New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Barmer -Bikaner Guwahati Express, Guwahati- New Delhi North East Sampark Kranti Express, Brahmputra Mail, Kamroop Express, North East Express, Awadh – Asom Express, Diburgarh- Chandigarh Express, Jammutavi- Guwahati Lohit Express, Capital Express and others.
