Howrah (WB), April 29: Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley today expressed confidence that the party would be able to send a sizable number of MLAs to the West Bengal Assembly.
“The BJP has fielded candidates in all 294 seats in the state. The party will produce an impressive result this time.
A sizeable number of our candidates will win,” Jaitley said at an election rally at Mandirtala in Howrah district.
Till now, BJP had only one MLA in West Bengal Assembly Badal Bhattacharya who had won in the 2001 election.
He said BJP ruled states like Bihar and Gujarat were well governed and claimed that Gujarat could be compared to China and Europe so far as development was concerned.
It was clear that the Left Front was going to be ousted, he said and dismissed charges of the Trinamool that BJP had a tacit understanding with the CPI(M).
