Seventh class student murdered in Hayathnagar

A school boy was brutally murdered by four persons who kidnapped him for ransom. The accused include the victim’s close relative.

According to Hayathnagar police, on Friday morning, they retrieved the body of a 13-year-old boy, clad in a school uniform, from the Peddacheruvu lake. The boy was later identified as K Uday Kiran, a student of seventh class of Raj Sree Vidya Mandir. His father K Pentaiah is a Bill Collector in a government department and resident of Bata Singaram.

The boy was throttled to death.

Investigation by the police revealed that Uday was allegedly kidnapped by his relative K Navin Kumar while he was returning home from school on Thursday. He told the boy that his father was admitted in a hospital and offered to take him there. However, he took Uday to an isolated place in Mansoorabad near Peddacheruvu lake where the main accused B Navin Kumar and two others – B Upendra and R Narasimha Rao were already waiting. They strangulated the boy and threw his body in the lake by putting stones in his trouser pockets. They also threw his school bag in the lake by putting big stones in it.

The assailants kept the boy’s school identity card with them so as to demand ransom from his father. However, the boy’s body was retrieved from the lake on Friday morning which exposed their heinous crime. Three of the four accused have been arrested by the police under Sections 364, 302, 201, 120B r/w 34 of IPC, according to Inspector B Venkateshwarlu. (INN)
