Seven-year boy kidnapped

Hyderabad, November 11: A seven-year boy was kidnapped while returning to his house from a kirana store run by his father at Jeedimetla today. The abductors demanded a ransom of `50 lakh for the safe release of the boy. The boy, Debabratha Sahu, is the son of Srikanth and Sabitha, natives of Orissa, who migrated to the city six years back. They were residing at Subash Naga. Debabratha is a second class student at Little Stars school located in the same locality.

Around 4 p.m, Debabratha went to the kirana store and spent some time there. Later, he left the place telling his father that he was leaving for home.

The boy went missing since then.

Around 6.30 p.m, Srikanth received a phone call stating that his son was kidnapped and the person demanded `50 lakh for the child’s safe release.

Jeedimetla police are tracking down the caller and the location from where the call was made.

The caller spoke in Hindi and police suspect that persons known to the family might have abducted the boy.
