New Delhi, July 15: In a weird incident, seven persons were trapped inside a lift in the Parliament on Wednesday for more than three hours causing much embarrassment to the authorities. All the victims were later rescued.
The incident happened on the Rajya Sabha side of Parliament complex when lift No 5 got stuck between floor number two and three with six journalists and the lift operator trapped inside.
Authorities initially tried to pull out the trapped persons on its own but as the news spread it was forced to call in the fire brigade, who then broke open the lift to rescue the trapped men.
However, food and medicines were provided to the trapped.
No reason has been cited and an investigation has been ordered into the incident, officials said.
