Guntur, September 12: Seven villages in the district are severely hit by floods, as Krishna river’s rising water level has not only damaged crops, but also displaced many a villager.
Seven Villages located near the Pulichinthala project on river Krishna in Guntur district is affected due to heavy rains and subsequent flooding.
According to sources, crop on 5,000 acres of land, is completely submerged in water. Villagers have taken refuge on the hillocks.
Team of National Disaster Response Force (NDFC) as well as district administration are carrying out relief work.
Four lakh cusecs of water is being discharged from Nagarjuna Sagar dam.
Administration has advised fishermen not to venture into the water bodies.
