Hyderabad: Karkhana Police arrested Shanti alias Lakshmi alias Parvati alias Jyothi alias Sumitra wife of Chandrasekhar who belonged to Tamil Nadu. She was involved in 14 theft cases in Secunderabad.
DCP of North Zone told that N. Suresh lodged a complaint with Karkhana Police on 16th November that a servant maid has been working for the past two days to take care of his 83 year old mother. The servant maid stole 50 gram necklace of his mother and fled away.
Police received a tip on 4th January and arrested the woman at Mehdipatnam bus stop.
DCP informed that Shanti got shifted to Hyderabad in 2011 and was involved in various theft cases. On questioning, she confessed 14 crimes but no investigating agency could arrest her. She used to target old women.
Police seized ¾ kg of gold ornaments worth Rs. 25 lakh.
