‘Don’t waste your and my time interrogating me. Just Google ‘psycho killer Amit’ and you will get all the answers’
PATNA: Bihar police arrested a 35-year-old psychopathic serial killer on Sunday. He has allegedly murdered 22 people in Patna, Vaishali and other districts of the state.
Avinash Srivastava alias Amit, a former Bihar lawmaker’s well-educated son, was arrested from Vaishali district when he was trying to steal cash from a bank. “Don’t waste your and my time interrogating me. Just Google ‘psycho killer Amit’ and you will get all the answers,” he reportedly told a shocked bunch of cops who had no idea who they had arrested.
Police said he did his MCA from Delhi’s Jamia Milia Islamia university and worked for an IT major till his father Lallan Srivastav, a former RJD MLC, was murdered in Patna in 2003. Vaishali SP Rakesh Kumar said, “Avinash had pumped 32 bullets into the body of one Pappu Khan, who had killed his father. He turned into a serial killer after that. Four of his victims are those who were reportedly involved in his father’s killing.”
Avinash is said to have inspired the climax scene in Bollywood movie “Gangs of Wasseypur-2” in which a man pumps countless number of bullets into a politician to avenge his father’s murder. Avinash also reminds many of serial killer Raman Raghav, who terrorized Bombay in the mid-1960s.
Avinash was nabbed while cutting the main shutter of Central Bank of India in Vaishali. He had served three years in jail, and was released on bail in March this year.
