A local court today remanded M Sankar alias Jayasankar, accused in several rape and murder cases, to 15 days judicial custody.
The 35-year-old accused was brought to the Hosur Judicial Magistrate Court amid tight security, in connection with the murder of two women in Hudco and Udhanapalli police limits near Hosur.
Sankar had escaped from custody four months ago when he was being taken to Coimbatore jail.
Hosur Judicial Magistrate Judge Suresh Kumar remanded him to judicial custody till August 7.
The accused, who is suspected to be a psychopath, was wanted by Tamil Nadu police in connection with 19 rape and
murder cases, and in Karnataka for eight murder and six rape cases.
He was arrested in Elagi Village in Bijapur district of Karnataka in May this year.
He also allegedly murdered two women in Hudco and Udhanapalli police limits near Hosur.Sankar was brought to
Hosur court today in connection with these two cases,police sources said.
