Hyderabad, October 14: An alleged serial killer involved in the murder of seven women has been apprehended by the Special Operation Team of Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, officials said today.
The accused Maina Ramulu (40), who was arrested two days ago, during interrogation confessed killing seven women since 2003 for monetary gains, Cyberabad Police Commissioner K Prabhakar Reddy told reporters here.
The accused would first select his target at toddy shops, lure them with money and alcohol and later take them to a secluded place, he said.
Ramulu would then strangulate his victims to death, before taking away their belongings, including jewellery, he said.
