Separate HCs for TS, AP from Jan. 1: Centre Issues Gazette notification

Hyderabad: Finally, the Centre today issued a gazette notification bifurcating Hyderabad High Court among two Telugu States.

According to informed sources, the two high courts will start functioning from January 1, 2019, with the Centre allocating 10 judges to Telangana and 16 Judges for Andhra Pradesh respectively. Thus, the bifurcation of the High Court at the State level became a reality only after four-and-a-half years rule and Telangana going for fresh Assembly polls.

The Andhra Pradesh Government earlier informed about its readiness to start high court from next month and the Centre took a final decision in this regard. Officials have collected the options from 1500 related officials and staff will be allotted to the two Telugu States. The staff to be divided, include office subordinates, record assistants, drivers, operators and others.
