In separate cases, three persons were killed and three others were injured in road accidents at different places in the city.
An 18-year-old boy died on the spot while two others were injured when the bike they were riding on hit a JCB Poclain near Ganesh Temple in Narsingi police limits on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Ramu Bista, an employee of a fast food centre and native of Nepal. The injured persons, Raju and Pawan, have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
In another case, 50-year-old S Lingaiah and his friend Narender suffered serious injuries when the bi-cycle they were riding was hit by a auto-rickshaw near Madhavreddy Nagar Bridge on Monday night. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where Lingaiah was declared brought dead. Narender is undergoing treatment and is said to be in critical condition. Both were labourers and met with the accident while home in Patel Nagar on their bicycle, according to Ghatkesar police.
In a different case, Saleha Begum, 55, died of a grievous head injury which she sustained after falling down from a motorcycle, on which she was a pillion rider, in Chandrayangutta police limits. The motorcycle, being driven by her son Khaled, jumped on speed breaker. She was immediately admitted to a nearby private hospital where she succumbed a few hours after admission. She was a resident of Osmanbagh near Kamatipura. (INN)
