Hyderabad: CM of Telangana State, Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao has decided to present separate budget for Agriculture sector from next year. He has also announced that there will be huge enhancement in the allocations. These decisions were taken at a meeting held at Pragati Bhavan yesterday.
Agriculture Minister, Mr. P. Srinivas Reddy and other officials attended the meeting. CM also said that special arrangements would be made for holding meetings of the farmers in each collectorate every year. In order to strengthen agriculture sector and also to unite the farmers for mutual consultation, various state level organizations of farmers would be setup. It has also been decided to organize training classes for farmers to apprise them of the scientific methods. If need be for reforms in Agriculture Sector, the services of agricultural scientists and retired officials would be utilized. He instructed the officials to maintain proper records of lands and also take action against those who sell spurious seeds. He told that in Integrated A.P. State, the farmers of Telangana were cheated and they were deprived of water for irrigation and drinking. In order to overcome water crises, Govt. of TRS is constructing irrigation projects on a large scale to irrigate one crore acres of land in Telangana.
