New Delhi [India]: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday morning opened on a positive note, recording a surge by 216.68 points in the opening trade, thus reaching to 31,577.31.
The Nifty was recorded at 9,684.05.
While the shares of TCS, Tata Motors Ltd. and Bharti Airtel gained, those of Adani Ports and HDFC saw a decline.
Shares of Tata Motors rose 2.7 percent to Rs. 448.45 after the company reported retail sales of 51,591 units for June, up from the same month last year by 11 percent.
Meanwhile, the Indian rupee emerged stronger against the US dollar, opening at 64.56 a dollar, up by 0.1 percent from its closing figure of 64.60 on Friday. (ANI)
