Mumbai: The market touched three-month high with the Sensex rising 212.81 points trading at 27500.47. Nifty on the other hand climbed 55.45 points trading at 8307.15.
The broader markets underperformed benchmarks with the midcap and smallcap indices rising 0.5 percent each.
Software services provider KPIT Technologies surged 13 percent as it reported excellent performance in July-September quarter with profit rising to 69 percent sequentially to Rs. 75.08 crore.
ITC, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, HDFC, SBI, Tata Motors, Lupin, ONGC and Axis Bank gained, whereas Bharti Airtel and Wipro were among top losers. (ANI)
