Mumbai, Oct 15 : After three days of weakness, the Sensex ended with an uptrend of 230.48 points at 27010.14. The Nifty on the other hand ended up 71.60 points at 8179.50.
About 1525 shares advanced, 1187 shares declined, and 158 shares remained unchanged.
Tata Motors, Tata Steel, BHEL, Maruti and Coal India were top gainers in the Sensex while Cipla, HUL, NTPC and TCS were losers.
As per markets experts the rupee is likely to remain steady for the rest of the fiscal, helped by strong macroeconomic fundamentals, which will lead to higher capital inflows and a comfortable balance of payment situation. (ANI)
