Senior journalist Padmabhushan Shekhar Gupta today called on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan and discussed extensively on National Politics.
Shekhar Gupta strongly supported KCR’s view point of qualitative change in national politics. The Chief Minister briefed Shekhar Gupta on the need for qualitative change, the background and context of his decision to play a key role in national politics. The CM told Shekhar Gupta that even after seven decades of Independence, people were facing hardships and not able to meet the minimum needs. KCR said while many countries are marching ahead with development, it is unfortunate that India was still struggling to provide its people the basic minimum needs.
He said unless there was a change in the mindset of rulers, there cannot be a real change in the situation. In India where several States form the nation, the spirit of federalism is lagging and the cooperative spirit is totally not seen. In this regard, Shekhar Gupta agreed with the views expressed by CM KCR. Shekhar Gupta also opined that there was a need for qualitative change in the country. Shekhar Gupta hoped that KCR’s efforts will be successful.
Both KCR and Shekhar Gupta extensively discussed on several issues faced by the country, the possible solutions, the essentialities of federal system, hurdles to federal spirit in the country, hurdles to development of the country as well as to ways and means to overcome them. (NSS)
