Karachi: Veteran politician and senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim died of blood cancer at a private hospital, here in Karachi on Saturday.
According to the Dawn, Fahim, who was diagnosed with blood cancer and had been in critical condition for some time, was brought back to Pakistan recently via an air ambulance.
Fahim had earlier undergone lump surgery in Berlin and was to be taken to Boston in October but doctors had dropped the plan after his condition did not permit.
Fahim was also once a front runner for the prime ministership in 2002 when he was offered by the then President Pervez Musharraf.
Several politicians have offered their condolences and voiced their grief over the demise of the senior leader. (ANI)
