Senior journalist Athar Ali Abbasi died here today following illness.
He was 87.
He was working with the Delhi edition of Rashtriya Sahara Urdu.
Abbasi, who was a journalist since 1954, had previously represented Urdu dailies ‘Aljamiat’ and ‘Dawat’ published from Delhi.
He was a member of the two-membered committee constituted by Uttar Pradesh government to keep a watch on paid news during the assembly elections in 2012.
