The CBI special court on Monday granted conditional bail to Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) L V Subrahmanyam who is facing charges in the Emaar Township scam being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
While granting bail on surity of Rs 25,000, the special court asked him to cooperate with the probing agency in invcestigations and directed him not to leave the city without informing the CBI. The court posted the next hearing on the case to July 9.
It may be mentioned that special court issued summons to both L V Subrahmanyam and suspended IAS officer B P Acharya to appear before it in the Emaar scam before June 18. The CBI has booked cases against them under tge provisions of IPC and the State has also permitted the CBI to prosecute Acharya under the Prevention of Corruption Act. However, the government denied permission to CBI to prosecute Subrahmanyam under the Prevention of Corruption Act after perusal of records.
