Senior govt officer murdered in Jammu

Jammu, November 30: A senior government officer was murdered by unidentified persons who kidnapped him from his house along with his wife in Mira Sahib on the outskirts of the city today, police said.

One Chander Prakash allegedly entered into the house of Deputy Director of Statistics department Ashok Kumar Kitchloo in Mira Sahib area and called him out along with his wife late last night. They were then abducted by some persons accompanying him, police said.

During the absence of the couple, some unidentified persons barged into his house and looted some valuable items and also resorted to vandalism, police said.

While the wife of Kitchloo returned back late, Kitchloo’s body was found in Maralian, 14-kms from here in R S Pura this afternoon.

The body bore torture marks and sharp-edged weapon injuries, they said.

Police have also taken into custody Chander Prakash and registered a case.
