Panaji, June 29: The Anti-Corporation Bureau (ACB) today trapped a senior state government officer while accepting a bribe.
P K Patidar, registrar of cooperative societies, who also holds additional charge as director of animal husbandry and veterinary services, was trapped by the sleuths while accepting Rs 15,000, ACB officials said.
The officer had demanded a bribe of Rs 2.3 lakh to clear off certain bills which were pending with the animal husbandry department, sources said.
Confirming that Patidar had been trapped, Superintendent of Police, Bosco George said raids were going on at various offices from where Patidar was working.
“We will be able to divulge more details only after raids are over,” he said.
According to sources, the ACB laid a trap this evening and caught Patidar while accepting money from a contractor.
