Senior citizen beaten to death over trivial issue during Holi celebrations

Agra: A trivial clash over a ‘holi cap’ ended in a tragic incident were a senior citizen was brutally beaten to death in Mainpuri’s Balpiur village on Friday.

The deceased aged around 65 was allegedly beaten to death over the petty issue with police filing a murder case against the six people involved in the crime, TOI reports.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 4 pm when two youths, Ashish Singh and Dharmendra Singh allegedly fought with each other after the former removed the cap that the latter was wearing which subsequently resulted in the involvement of the duo’s family members.

One of the family members of Ashish violently thrashed Dharmendra’s father, Lakhan Singh.

He reportedly sustained head injuries in the clash and later died in the hospital.

Now Mainpuri SP Ajay Shankar Rai reported six people including Ashish, his father Karan Singh have been booked under section 302 (murder) of IPC on the basis of a complaint filed by the deceased’s son Dharmendra.
