Senior citizen arrested for duping one

Mumbai, July 29: A senior citizen, who impersonated as a top Indian Air Force official, was today arrested for allegedly duping a 24-year-old man from Gujarat on the pretext of securing him job in the United Kingdom, Railway Police said.

Akbar Ibrahim Khan (73) was apprehended from suburban Andheri after a manhunt was launched for him following a complaint by Kunal Gandhi of Gujarat yesterday, they said.

During the probe, it was found that Khan had also allegedly cheated an unemployed youth in May on the pretext of securing him a job at Mumbai airport and took Rs 5,000 from the victim.

Police are verifying how many job-seekers were duped by Khan.

According to police, Khan met Kunal’s father Dilip on Friday in a train who was talking to his companion about sending his son to the UK.
