Hyderabad: A senior assistant, working in the office of Assistant Director, Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens, Khammam, was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths while he allegedly demanded and accepted bribe from the complainant.
According to an ACB press note, accused Regandla Venugopal demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 2,000 from one A Sravan Kumar of Tirumalayapalem for handing over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh sanctioned in the name of complainant’s wife A Nagalaxmi towards subsidy loan to install a flour mill.
The ACB sleuths recovered the tainted money from his possession. The accused will be produced in the court of Special Judge for ACB Cases, the ACB press note added.
