Jaitapur(Mah), April 09: Shiv Sena today said that it will extend all possible support to locals who are opposing the proposed 9,900 MW nuclear power project at Jaitapur.
“Shiv Sena will be behind you with all its might to see that the project does not come up,” party Executive President Uddhav Thackeray said, addressing a public rally at Mithgavhane.
“After the tsunami in Japan, there was massive radiation and extensive damage there. Do not try such an experiment on the hapless people of Konkan,” Uddhav said.
Thackeray was accompanied by senior leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi and several Sena MPs and MLAs.
“I wish to warn Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan that the common man has the power to overthrow the government,” Uddhav, who last month met the CM to express opposition to the project, said.
