An “over enthusiastic” teenager landed in trouble while trying to get a perfect selfie with the district magistrate in Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, eighteen-year old Farad Ahmad was sent to judicial custody for fourteen days for trying to click a selfie with the district magistrate of Bulandshahr.
Ahmed who hails from Kamalpur village tried to take the selfie when the DM was speaking about some local issues.
Ahmed was charged for “getting too close” to the DM B Chandrakala released on bail on Thursday.
With a reprimand from the DM who said that apart from being the district magistrate she was also a woman and that a woman’s dignity should be “respected by one and all”.
Making her stand clear, the DM said, when the boy was asked to delete the pictures, he refused saying, that this is my camera, ‘meri marzi’.
While expressing shock over the youth’s reply, Chandrakala said, whosoever it is, he/she should have the other person’s consent before taking pictures.
“Also, I want to clarify that his arrest has nothing to do with the selfie but with the ruckus he created when he was asked to delete the pictures”
expressing concern about today’s youth she says that they tend to become irresponsible at times. They have a great responsibility towards the nation.
In 2014, Chandrakala, the 2008 batch UP cadre IAS officer became famous after she publicly pulled up civic officials and contractors for sub-standard road construction.
