Tenants of Waqf property of Hazrat Maula Taleem in Khammam district called on Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan and complaint about illegal extortion of exorbitant amount by local Waqf officials. The delegation also submitted a written complaint to Chief Executive Officer Waqf Board in this connection.
10 tenants who met Mr. Khan complained that Managing Committee issued a notice to the tenants in 2012 and in connivance with a self-styled society extorted exorbitant amount. The tenants complained that by luring them to allot land by the Waqf Board Rs. 80000 per head was collected from them. Apart from that rent of Rs. 1000 was fixed. Tenants maintained that they paid rent from October 2012 to August 2015 to the local inspector auditor but they were not allotted shops till date.
The delegation alleged that the president of the self-styled Muslim society is responsible for encroachment on various Waqf properties. Recently he has occupied Waqf land of Ganja-e-Shaheedan.
The delegation which met Mr. Zahed Ali Khan included Mohammed Imtiyaz, Mohammed Rajab Ali, Shaikh Nisar Ahmed, Syed Ali, Mohammed Sattar, Shaikh Jani Miyan, Shaikh Mujahed, Mohammed Saleem and Mohammed Rafeeq.
