16 acre land is endowed to Dargah Hazrat Syed Shah Ali Abbas Husaini at Kukatpally. Syed Arifuddin Quadri son of ex-mutavalli late Syed Saberuddin Quadri by posing himself as the caretaker of dargah collected a cheque of Rs. 1.85 crore from Hyderabad Metro Rail Project and GHMC, as compensation towards 831 sqyd dargah land acquired for metro rail project, despite of the fact that the Waqf Board never accepted Syed Arifuddin as the caretaker of the dargah.
Special officer waqf board Mr. Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal IPS said that the waqf board has send letters to GHMC and Hyderabad Metro Rail urging them to hand over the compensation of dargah land to state Waqf Board. The letter also stated that the acquisition of Rs. 1.85 from the self-styled caretaker is GHMC and HMRP’s headache and Waqf Board has nothing to do with it.
On the direction of ex-Chairman state Board Maulana Khusro Pasha a complaint was also lodged against Syed Arifuddin at Commissioner police Cyberabad on 03-06-2013 and 04-06-2013 on which police had also registered an FIR.
