Los Angeles: With hit singles “Good For You”, “Same Old Love” and newly released “Hands to Myself”, Selena Gomez has become Billboard’s chart-topper of the year.
The 23-year-old singer’s latest LP, Revival, is her most personal project yet, and Gomez enjoyed the fruits of her labour when Billboard named her Chart-Topper of the Year at it’s Women in Music event.
“I want to thank everyone for supporting me for not just this record but for all the times that I wanted to create something special and stumbling along the way, figuring out what my sound was,” she said of her musical comeback.
“This album in particular was such a transition record for me, and I have so much still to prove and work on, but I would not be here if I couldn’t do what I love without you guys.”
Gomez went on to thank her team and label Interscope Records, adding “they completely gave me the freedom to do what I love, and I didn’t really know what that was at first and they stuck with me for a year figuring out what that was.
