Selection of Khadim-ul-Hujjaj on April 26

The Qurrah (Draw of lots) for selection of 15 Khadim-ul-Hujjaj from the State will be held on 26th April at 3 PM at the office of the AP State Haj Committee, Haj House, Nampally Hyderabad.

A total of 18 Khadim-ul-Hujjaj will be selected to accompany the Haj pilgrims from the State. Three Khadim-ul-Hujjaj will be selected with two from the Haj Committee and one from the AP State Wakf Board.

SHC Special Officer Prof. S. A. Shukoor informed in a press release that altogether 154 applications were received from the candidates belonging to the Muslim community, out of which 139 candidates were found eligible for selection, while 15 applications were rejected. He said that the Qurrah will be held region wise. The highest number of 76 applications were received from the Twin Cities followed by 44 from the Telangana region. 10 applications were received from the Rayalaseema region and 9 from the Andhra region. He said that Khadim-ul-Hujjaj are selected at the ratio of 300:1. This year 5380 Haj pilgrims are selected from the State.

SHC Executive Officer Abdul Hameed said that out of 15 Khadim-ul-Hujjaj, four will be selected from the Twin cities, five from Telangana, while three each from Rayalaseema and Andhra region.

He said that intimation has been sent to all the eligible candidates by post and through SMS. If selected the candidates should submit all the original certificates along with the original passport with a validity up to 31-03-2015 and a No Objection Certificate from the department concerned. He further said that the selection will purely provisional subject to the approval of Ministry of External Affairs Government of India. (INN)
