Chennai, December 19: Vice Captain Virender Sehwag will lead Team India in place of M S Dhoni, in the third and the fourth One Day Internationals against Sri Lanka.
BCCI Secretary and Selection Committee Convenor N Srinivasan announced here today this became necessary following the two-match suspension handed over to Dhoni by ICC Match Referee Jeff Crowe for slow over rate in the second ODI at Nagpur yesterday.
He announced Sehwag would lead the team in the next two ODIs.
Meanwhile, the Selection Committee met in Chennai at the BCCI and Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) Office here to pick the team for the remaining three matches.
