Bangalore, February 25: Team India’s opening batsman Virender Sehwag
was injured during the practice session of the team ahead of
Sunday’s key Group B league match against England in the World Cup,
at the M Chinnaswamy stadium here today.
Sehwag was batting when a ball from a local bowler hit him on the
ribs on his left side. Medical staff attended to him for nearly
half an hour.
Sehwag left the field while other members continued with
the practice session.
Sehwag had joined the practice sessions yesterday after
not being present earlier. The dashing batsmen hit a fine
175 that helped India to victory against Bangladesh at Mirpur
in Dhaka in the championship opener.
