Sehwag, Gambhir depart early at Nagpur ODI

Nagpur, December 18: India were off to a disastrous start in the second ODI as in-form Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir were back in the pavilion with just 19 runs on the board.

Sehwag, who played a ruthless 146-run knock in the last ODI at Rajkot, departed to Chanaka Welegedara in the first over of the innings for just 4.

Moments later, another heartbreak moment for the home team saw Gambhir run-out for 2.

India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first in the second one-day international.

Yuvraj Singh, who is down with flu has been ruled out of the game while Virender Sehwag has been declared fit.

India won the last ODI in Rajkot by 3 runs after amassing a mammoth total of 414 runs.

Dhoni says at the toss: “It looks a good track, so we will bat first. We would like to bat well and put some runs on the board. Yuvraj is still missing and we are playing with the same side. The flu is affecting the support staff, so in a way it is good. It is a fresh day and we have to start from scratch.”
