Mirpur, January 25: Twin half centuries by openers Virender Sehwag (56) and Gautam Gambhir (68) propelled India to 177 for two against Bangladesh at lunch on the second day of the second and final Test here today.
Riding on Sehwag and Gambhir’s 120-ball 103-run opening partnership, India inched closer to Bangladesh’s first innings total of 233 as the visitors were just 56 runs behind with eight wickets intact.
At lunch break, Rahul Dravid (33) and Sachin Tendulkar (13) were at the crease.
Sehwag and Gambhir continued from where they left yesterday evening and piled up runs at a quick pace this morning before the former departed after posting his 21st half century in his 74th match.
