Seemandhra team to stress on integration during Delhi trip: Sailajanath

Hyderabad, June 29: Seemandhra Forum convener and Minister for Primary Education S Sailajanath on Tuesday stated that he would take a delegation of Seemandhra leaders to New Delhi on July 5-6 to stress on the importance of Andhra Pradesh remaining integrated of state.

Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, Mr Sailajanath said that the Seemandhra leaders would prevail upon the High Command and Congress Core Committee members over the integration of state and present their views.

He said the Seemandhra leaders are opposed to the division of the state as it would retard the progress of state. Besides this, he added that welfare of SC/STs/BCs is not possible in the event of division of the state.

Mr Sailajanath said the Seemandhra leaders would stress that development is only possible with the state remaining integrated. He added that the Seemandhra leaders would appeal to the High Command and Core Committee to address the controversial statehood issue as early as possible.

Minister for Law and Courts Erasu Prathap Reddy said the Seemandhra leaders would appeal to High Command to take a decision early to end political uncertainty and put the state on the path of growth.

Minister for Minor Irrigation T G Venkatesh also expressed similar feelings at the conference.

He criticised Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao for not paying tributes to former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao on the occasion of his 91 Jayanthi, who belonged to the Telangana region.
