Three Congress MPs from Seemandhra region on Friday began a two-day fast demanding that the Centre stop the Andhra Pradesh.
The MPs – Lagadapati Rajagopal, GV Harsha Kumar and Sabbam Hari, along with their supporters launched the fast at Dharna Chowk at Indira Park. Their fast coincided with the resuming of Assembly session, which is scheduled to discuss the Telangana Bill. The MPs asked the legislators from Seemandhra region to insist on passing a resolution in the Assembly to keep the State united.
Several state ministers from Seemandhra and MLAs including G Srinivasa Rao and K Parthasarathy visited the hunger strike camp to express their solidarity with the fasting MPs. The fast will continue till 9 PM on Saturday. (INN)
