Seemandhra leaders will abide by report: Kavuri

Hyderabad, December 25: Asserting that the Seemandhra leaders would abide by the recommendations of the Srikrishna committee report on state bifurcation issue, senior Congress leader and MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao today remarked that there would be a need to create 1,000 states in the country if Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated based on sentiment.

Talking to newsmen here, the Congress MP hoped that the Srikrishna committee report would show a ‘solution’ to Telangana issue. If the Central government intends to divide the state based on a sentiment then it should adopt the same policy all over the country. Similar ‘sentiments’ also exists in other parts of the country.

Referring to participation of some Congress MLAs at former Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Lakshya Deeksha programme in Vijayawada recently, Kavuri said that it amounts to violation of party discipline. The party high command would decide about taking action against such MLAs. He, however, claimed that there was no threat to the Congress government. In reality, ‘values’ have fallen in almost all the political parties, including the ruling Congress. Bihar like situation should come all over the country since the people of Bihar have once again voted in favour of Nitish Kumar based on his performance, he observed.
