Seemandhra leaders need to work harder: Rayapati

Guntur, August 02: Guntur Member of Parliament Rayapati Sambashiva Rao on Sunday said that Congress leaders from Rayalaseema and Andhra Pradesh will represent before the Srikrishna Committee and submit their opinions on the bifurcation of the state.

Talking to media persons, Mr Sambashiva said that it has become all the more important for Seemandhra leaders to present their opinion about the future of the state after the results of the recent by-elections in Telangana region.

He said that the by-election results have raised new hopes among the pro-Telangana leaders.

Mr Sambashiva Rao said that the by-election results do not necessarily mean that the verdict was in favour of a separate state. He said that the voters could have been swayed by the away by the resignations and re-elected the sitting candidates.

The MP also said that that the Congress High Command will study in depth and find the reasons for the defeat of the party candidates in the by-elections.
Mr Sambashiva Rao also revealed that the High Command will take a decision on Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas’s post within one or two days, in the backdrop of calls for his resignations.
