Guntur, December 29: Lifting of cases against the students who indulged in arson during the agitation for separate Telangana state is unconstitutional, Seemandhra Students Joint Action Committee convener A Kishorekumar has said. The student JAC comprising 14 universities of Seemandhra held an emergency meeting here today to discuss the course of action to be followed after submission of the Srikrishna Committee report if it is in favour of bifurcation of the state.
Political JAC convener N Samuel feared that the state government’s decision would embolden the T students to indulge in arson if the Srikrishna Committee report was against creation of separate state. He accused the Kiran Kumar Reddy government of yielding to the pressure from Telangana MPs in withdrawal of cases. It would pose a grave threat to law and order in Hyderabad in future, he said.
