Seemandhra Demand to keep Hyderabad free zone

Visakhapatnam, August 10: A Seemandhra JAC has called for a bandh on Thursday demanding the retention of Clause 14(F) in the Presidential Order to ensure that Hyderabad remained free zone for recruitment purposes.

It might be mentioned here that this controversial clause has been the bone of contention of the Telangana separatists, who have been agitating for its deletion. Despite the Centre yielding to the mounting pressure from the Telangana protagonists and recommended to the President of India to delete the clause, a bandh is being observed in the region.

The Telangana Students’ JAC is insisting that an appropriate order should come from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs after the President of India puts her stamp of approval before the SI examinations scheduled on August 13 and 14 conducted. Thus bandh is being observed in the region despite the Centre approving deletion of the controversial clause.

Expressing its shock and dismay over the Union government recommending to the President to delete the clause to make Hyderabad a non-free zone, the Seemandhra JAC organized a protest meeting in this City of Destiny insisting that the clause be retained to ensure that Hyderabad remained free zone for recruitment purposes.

Thus, in order to mount pressure on the Union government to allow Hyderabad to remain a free zone, the Seemandhra JAC has called for a bandh and appealed to all the people in the region, especially the students and employees, to make it a success.
