Seemandhra Congress leaders finally shot a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee seeking him to give more information on nine issues relating to Andhra Pradesh State Reorganization bill 2013. The letter was sent through Speaker N Manohar and Chief Secretary PK Mohanty, according to sources.
Though the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who is reluctant to write a letter seeking more time for Telangana debate, is said to have asked Seemandhra Congress leaders to seek additional information on these issues. Subsequently, they sought to know as to what steps the Center will take if it wants to bifurcate the state. More information sought include instructions of the Center on legal, financial, irrigation water issues, opinion of Attorney General on Article 371 D, Joint capital, special powers to Governor and irrigation waters, on what basis cabinet note on the bill was brought to the Cabinet, status of Antony committee to look into Seemandhra problems, Union Finance Ministry on joint capital, rationality of Union Home Ministry on merger of Bhadrachalam in Telangana, non allocated power from Central power stations for the past 14 years, is there any need of amendment for transfer of power to states from captive power stations.
