Seema-Andhra leaders are divided on the issue of selection of Capital for the new State. Leaders of Costal Andhra are trying their level best to keep Rayalaseema leaders with them. Seema-Andhra leaders convened a meeting to consider finalizing State Capital but Rayalaseema leader did not attend this meeting. They convened another meeting separately. They said that they have no confidence in Costal Andhra leader. Their contention is that after the bifurcation of Andhra from Madras State, Kurnool was made the Capital, however, they agreed for Hyderabad as Capital sacrificing Kurnool. After the formation of separate Telangana State, Rayalaseema will get maximum loss.
Rayalaseema leaders have decided to represent their case to the center for getting financial package for the development of their region and also for resolving water issue. With the separate meeting of Rayalaseema leaders, Coastal Andhra leaders are getting restless. The staunch supporters of Integrated Andhra State, Mr. Shailajanath and Mr. N. Raghuveera Reddy did not attend the meeting. It is reported that Coastal Andhra leader had advised the Seema Andhra leaders not to convene separate meeting. Despite this, a meeting of Rayalaseema leaders was convened.
