Seek legal permission for loudspeakers in Masajid: Maulana Arshad Madani

New Delhi: While speaking about the notices on loudspeakers in masajid, temples, churches and gurudwaras, President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Maulana Syed Arshad Madani, said this is not a government decision but a court order, hence Muslims should always respect a court order and abide by it. They should maintain patience and follow the orders of Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court.

It must be noted that Uttar Pradesh government had received flak from Allahabad High Court over noise pollution in Uttar Pradesh. The Allahabad High Court last month had asked the Uttar Pradesh government whether the loudspeakers or public address systems installed at mosques, temples, churches, gurudwaras etc. were installed after obtaining a written permission from the authorities concerned.

Following which the state administration issued notice to all religious places and asked to obtain permission for loudspeaker use. It is likely that the use of loudspeakers will be banned across the state which has created apprehensions among locals.

Maulana Arshad Madani advised not to become tense or restive, instead he asked those masajid who have not sought permission to obtain it soon. He said we respect court order but if it is tried to curtail our religious freedom we will stage strong protest against it.
