Washington: Donald Trump, US President announced a plan to send an additional 4000 troops to Afghanistan. The United States will send its additional forces to Afghanistan as a part of the new U.S. strategy to break the stalemate in a war against the Taliban and other insurgent groups.
U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis signed orders to deploy more troops to Afghanistan. “I have signed orders for fresh deployments. The fight will still be carried by the Afghan security forces .. by and large, this is to enable the Afghan forces to fight effectively,” local media reports quoted Mattis as saying to reporters.
It may be mentioned that Donald Trump had earlier supported for the withdrawal of military. However, he changed his mind after communicating with the national security team and military chiefs.

Now, the big question pops up, how military chiefs convinced Donald Trump to deploy more force in Afghanistan? According to the Washington Post, National Security Adviser, H.R. McMaster showed Trump a photo from 1972 of Afghan women in miniskirts. He presented this photo to show that western culture had existed in Afghanistan and could return.
