Security situation reviewed in Jammu region

Jammu, April 26: The Core Group on security today reviewed the situation in Jammu region especially in light of the ongoing panchayat elections and the upcoming Amarnath yatra.

Security advisor to the J-K Government and 16 Corps Commander Lieutenant General J P Nehra,

who chaired the meeting, stressed that security forces, intelligence agencies and the administration should be more vigilant in view of the possibility of terrorists attempting to disrupt peace in the region, especially during the summer months.

The meeting of the highest security assessment panel was held at the headquarters of Cross Swords Division at Akhnoor border town in Jammu district and was attended by DGP Kuldeep Khoda and other senior officials, officials said.

The Security Advisor complimented the security forces, intelligence agencies and civil administration for achieving highest degree of synergy and coordination and efficiently handling the security situation in Jammu region during the winters.
