After the firing incident at KBR park on Wednesday morning hours, the police increased the security in and around the park at all levels. One Interceptor and one patrolling vehicle, along with 20 constables will cover the entire park.
According to police officials, half of the constables will be armed and half would be unarmed and mufti. They will focus on main entrance and other gates of the park. One of the parties will keep a watch on the pedestrians, who move around the park. Other parties would keep an eye on the people in the parking lots and walkways, around the park. While the patrolling vehicle will continuously make round of the 400 acre park, during the peak time and the Interceptor would be ready at the main entrance. “As entrance 2 & 3 and 9 & 10 are important, most of our personnel will be there,” said Additional DCP West Zone K R Nagaraju.
The police officials will be holding a meeting with the stakeholders, including walkers and forest officials for installation of CCTV cameras, shortly. “We will be taking into consideration the views of residents, forest officials and the walkers association, before installing them,” Additional DCP West Zone K R Nagaraju said.
